“Newport Nights”
16 in the summer never ends
Read the lyrics
16 in the summer never ends
Sold on our skin Dreaming in the sand
Pool lights glow and radio on low
We were the kids
The ocean used to know
And oh, the sun went down so slow
On everything we didn't know
Under Newport Nights we were golden and young Sun in our eyes before the sun
Summer was gone
Dancing on the shoreline Hearts on the run
Oh, under Newport Nights
We were only begun Newport Nights
Newport Nights, Newport Nights, Newport Nights, Newport Nights
Smoke in a bar or a guitar
First broken hearts
Underneath the stars
Every goodbye felt like the end of the world
Every hello was a boy and a girl
And oh, we let the summer go
But some part of us never
Rose old Under Newport Nights we were golden and young
Sun in our eyes before the summer was gone
Dancing on the shoreline
Hearts on the run
Oh, under Newport Nights
We were only begun
I still hear the waves at night
Calling me back to the light Under Newport Nights
Under Newport Nights we were golden and young
Sun in our eyes before the summer was gone
Dancing on the shoreline
Hearts on the run
Oh, under Newport Nights
We were only begun
